PIEDMONT HEART INSTITUTE, INC. ("PHI"), DEVELOPS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR PHYSICIANS, EMPLOYERS, AND THE LAY COMMUNITY. THESE PROGRAMS ARE FOCUSED ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF PERSONS AT RISK FOR HEART DISEASE, AS WELL AS ON APPROPRIATE TREATMENT OPTIONS. IN ADDITION, PHI HAS ESTABLISHED A ROBUST RESEARCH PLATFORM AIMED AT ADVANCING THE UNDERSTANDING OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES AND CONDITIONS AND THEIR TREATMENT AND PREVENTION. PHI IS CURRENTLY ENGAGED IN STUDIES OF INNOVATIVE NEW TREATMENT METHODS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES SUCH AS ARRHYTHMIA, PERIPHERAL VASCULAR DISEASE, CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE, VALVULAR DISEASE, AND CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE.
