IMAGING THE WORLD HAS FOCUSED ITS WORK TO DATE ON PRENATAL ULTRASOUND IN RURAL UGANDA AND MALAWI AFRICA. PROVIDING ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGY TO THESE AREAS SAVES LIVES BY DIAGNOSING TREATABLE CONDITIONS IN TIME FOR APPROPRIATE INTERVENTIONS. FURTHERMORE, IMAGING THE WORLD PROVIDES TRAINING AND EDUCATION, AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT SUPERVISION. TRAINING NURSES AND MIDWIVES TO DO SCANS AT THEIR OWN HEALTH CENTERS AND INTEGRATE IT INTO PRENATAL CARE WITHIN THE LOCAL CULTURAL CONTEXT. IMAGING THE WORLD AFRICA DOES NOT HIRE THE NURSES AND MIDWIVES.
