ENGAGE, INSPIRE, RECRUIT AND RESOURCE CHURCHES AND FAMILIES TO SERVE CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH FAITH-BASED FAMILY PRESERVATION, KINSHIP CARE, FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION.

INSPIRED AND RECRUITED PARENTS FROM COLORADO CHURCHES TO SERVE THE CHILDREN IN COLORADO'S WELFARE SYSTEM THROUGH 270 HOURS OF STATE-CERTIFIED, FAITH-BASED TRAINING REQUIRED TO BECOME FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE PARENTS. 67 INDIVIDUALS ATTENDED THIS STATE-CERTIFIED TRAINING REQUIRED TO BECOME FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE PARENTS. AN ADDITIONAL 118 INDIVIDUALS WERE TRAINED TO BECOME SUPPORT TEAM MEMBERS FOR FOSTERING FAMILIES. PROJECT 1.27 THEN HELPED THE FAMILIES SELECT APPROPRIATE AGENCIES AND PROVIDED ON-GOING SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE FOSTERING PROCESS. PROJECT 1.27 PROVIDED ADDITIONAL TRAINING, HARD GOODS AND OTHER SUPPORT TO 388 KINSHIP AND FOSTER FAMILIES, AND 1,174 CHILDREN INVOLVED IN THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM.


THIS YEAR PROJECT 1.27 RESEARCHED, DESIGNED AND LAUNCHED FAMILIES CARE, A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO SUPPORT FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AT-RISK FOR ENTERING FOSTER CARE TO KEEP CHILDREN SAFELY AT HOME AND HELP FAMILIES THRIVE. THE PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED AND LAUNCHED IN THREE COLORADO COUNTIES AND THE FIRST THREE FAMILIES WERE MATCHED WITH SUPPORTIVE VOLUNTEERS IN THE FIRST YEAR.


THE 1.27 NATIONAL NETWORK, LED AND FUNDED BY PROJECT 1.27, SERVED 16 SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE US. TOGETHER 1.27 NETWORK ORGANIZATIONS SERVED 7,000 CHILDREN THROUGH FOSTER, KINSHIP AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES, MENTORING, SUPPORT SERVICES AND DIRECT RESOURCES. PROJECT 1.27 PROVIDED NETWORK MEMBERS WITH 6 LEARNING COHORTS, MONTHLY NETWORKING CALLS, A 3-DAY EXECUTIVE LEADER RETREAT AND INDIVIDUAL COACHING AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
