THE TAYLOR HAUGEN TROPHY - IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ALL SPORTS ASSOCIATION, THE TAYLOR HAUGEN FOUNDATION PRESENTS THE TAYLOR HAUGEN TROPHY AND AWARD TO A LOCAL ATHLETE. THE TROPHY RECOGNIZES THE STUDENT WHO BEST REPRESENTS A COMBINATION OF FAITH, LEADERSHIP, ACADEMICS, COMMUNITY SERVICE AND ATHLETICS AS A LASTING TRIBUTE TO TAYLOR'S MOTTO, "DON'T QUIT, NEVER GIVE UP." THE TROPHY'S REQUIREMENTS ARE: BY NOMINATION ONLY BY A SCHOOL COMMITTEE FOR A SENIOR AT AN OKALOOSA, SANTA ROSA OR WALTON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL. 1 NOMINEE PER SCHOOL; NOMINEE MUST BE AN ATHLETE WHO HAS PARTICIPATED IN A HIGH SCHOOL SPORT, WITH A MINIMUM GPA, WHO EXHIBITS LEADERSHIP, IS INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE AND STRONG IN CHRISTIAN FAITH. THE SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED TO A SENIOR ATHLETE FROM OKALOOSA, WALTON, BAY AND SANTA ROSA COUNTIESWHO BEST DEMONSTRATES A HEALTHY BALANCE BETWEEN ACADEMICS, ATHLETICISM, LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY SERVICE AND CHRISTIAN FAITH.
YOUTH EQUIPMENT FOR SPORTS SAFETY (YESS) PROGRAM WILL WORK TO PROVIDE AWARENESS AND POTENTIALLY PROVIDE EQUIPMENT VIA GRANT, SCHOLARSHIP, OR FACILITATION OF ACQUISITION FOR YOUTH. THE YESS PROGRAM ADDRESSES OUR DESIRE TO SUPPORT AWARENESS OF AND FACILITATE ACQUISITION FOR YOUTH SAFETY EQUIPMENT IN AN INITIALLY LIMITED SERVICE AREA AND AGE GROUP TO GAUGE THE FOUNDATIONS ABILITY TO SERVE YOUTH IN THAT CAPACITY AND PURSUANT TO OUR MISSION.
