Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
IN SPRING OF 2021 WE WERE ABLE TO RE-OPEN OUR ART AND MUSIC PROGRAMS TO THE COMMUNITY. AS A RESULT, WE SHIFTED OUR FOCUS FROM OUR PANDEMIC FEEDING PROGRAM, BACK TO PROVIDING FREE ART AND MUSIC CLASSES. WE SAW THE NEED TO INVEST MORE INTO THE SPIRITUAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS AFTER OUR COMMUNITY EXPERIENCED SO MUCH LOSS AND SOLITUDE DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC. WE BEGAN BY BRINGING A PSYCHOLOGIST ONTO OUR STAFF. THIS ALLOWED US TO ADD TO OUR PROGRAM FREE PROFESSIONAL GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL ART THERAPY SESSIONS, COVERING TOPICS ON GRIEF, ANXIETY, INNER HEALING AND MORE. WE ALSO HIRED THE NECESSARY STAFF IN ORDER TO EXPAND OUR REACH TO CHILDREN AND NOT JUST YOUTH AND ADULTS. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR EXISTENCE AS AN ORGANIZATION, WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH A FULL-TIME ART PROGRAM. CHILDREN IN MEXICO COULD NOT ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOL DURING THE YEAR OF 2021, SO ASIDE FROM OFFERING THEM A CREATIVE SPACE, OUR PROGRAM ALSO BECAME A PLACE WHERE THEY COULD SOCIALIZE WITH OTHER KIDS, USE THEIR IMAGINATION AND GET READY FOR RETURNING TO THE CLASSROOM SETTING AGAIN. EVEN WITH GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS STILL SET IN PLACE DURING 2021, WE PROVIDED MORE THAN 50 DIFFERENT TYPES OF CREATIVE CLASSES TO MORE THAN 600 FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 3 AND 100! SOME OF THE CLASSES WE PROVIDED WERE: PAINTING, DRAWING, PHOTOGRAPHY, CRAFTS, SEWING, HANDBAGS, SCULPTURE, ART JOURNALING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, GUITAR, DRUMS, PIANO, CHOIR, VOICE AND CREATIVE WRITING JUST TO MENTION A FEW.
