SCHOOL: IN THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR MOUNTAIN SUN COMMUNITY SCHOOL SERVED 96 CHILDREN AGES 3 - 13. MOUNTAIN SUN SERVES CHILDREN IN A CAREFULLY PREPARED ENVIRONMENT WITH SPECIALLY TRAINED TEACHERS USING MONTESSORI PRINCIPLES ALONG WITH OTHER COMPLEMENTARY EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES. LOTS OF TIME SPENT OUTDOORS, SMALL MULTI-AGE CLASSROOMS AND EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATORS CREATE A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WHERE EACH CHILD IS CHALLENGED AND INSPIRED TO BE THEIR BEST: ACADEMICALLY, SOCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY.
NATURAL PLAY PROJECT: IN THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021 THIS PROGRAM WAS SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY SO NO CHILDREN WERE SERVED IN THIS FISCAL YEAR. THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN REACTIVATED IN THE FOLLOWING FISCAL YEAR. THE NATURAL PLAY PROJECT PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND ACCESS TO OUTDOOR SPACES FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES AND HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPORTANT SHORT AND LONG-TERM BENEFITS OF GETTING CHILDREN COMFORTABLE AND JOYFUL OUTDOORS.
