MOUNTAIN SUN COMMUNITY SCHOOL'S MISSION IS TO CULTIVATE EACH STUDENT'S NATURAL CURIOSITY AND LOVE OF LEARNING THROUGH A CHALLENGING ACADEMIC CURRICULUM GROUNDED IN MUTUAL RESPECT AND A SENSE OF BELONGING. WE RECOGNIZE EACH STUDENT'S UNIQUE POTENTIAL AND NURTURE THEIR PASSIONS.

SCHOOL: IN THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR, MOUNTAIN SUN COMMUNITY SCHOOL SERVED 117 CHILDREN AGES 3-13. MOUNTAIN SUN SERVES CHILDREN IN A CAREFULLY PREPARED ENVIRONMENT WITH SPECIALLIY TRAINED TEACHERS USING MONTESSORI PRINCIPLES ALONG WITH OTHER COMPLIMENTARY EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES. LOTS OF TIME SPENT OUTDOORS, SMALL MULTI-AGE CLASSROOMS AND EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATORS CREATE A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WHERE EACH CHILD IS CHALLENGED AND INSPIRED TO BE THEIR BEST: ACADEMEICALLY, SOCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY.
NATURAL PLAY PROJECT: THE NATURAL PLAY PROJECT PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND ACCESS TO OUTDOOR SPACES FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES AND HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPORTANT SHORT AND LONG-TERM BENEFITS OF GETTING CHILDREN COMFORTABLE AND JOYFUL OUTDOORS. IN THE FISCALY YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023, 30 CHILDREN WERE SERVED IN THIS PROGRAM.
