BRONX ACADEMY OF PROMISE PRIDES ITSELF ON THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION THAT RAISES STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT BOTH ACADEMICALLY AS WELL AS SOCIALLY. AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC, BAOP VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO ADOPT A FULLY REMOTE LEARNING MODEL FOR THE ENTIRE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR. BAOP BELIEVES THAT CONSISTENCY, COLLABORATION AND SMALL INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION IS WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR STUDENTS. WE INVESTED IN TECHNOLOGY WHICH ALLOWED US TO REACH A 1:1 RATIO OF DEVICES TO STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL. EACH STUDENT WAS ABLE TO HAVE A DEVICE TO LOG ONTO VIRTUAL LEARNING, WORK WITH THEIR TEACHERS AND SUBMIT WORK. WE COLLABORATED WITH THE STAFF TO MAKE SURE STUDENTS WERE RECEIVING SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION THROUGH VIRTUAL LEARNING. WE ALSO COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING STAFF AND STUDENTS MENTAL HEALTH/SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING BY CREATING DAILY CHECK-INS CALLED "MORNING MEETINGS AND "CLOSING CIRCLES." IN ADDITION, THE SCHOOL'S DAILY ATTENDANCE RATE REMAINED AT OVER 95% THROUGHOUT THIS REMOTE LEARNING PERIOD DUE TO THE COMMITMENT OF ALL STAFF MEMBERS TO HELP SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AND CONTINUE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN HOME AND SCHOOL.
