BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY TO IMPOVERISHED AND UNFORUNATE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.

FOOD PANTRY OPERATIONS SERVED APPROXIMATELY 1,025 HOUSEHOLDS, 2,338 UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS AND DISTRIBUTED 294 TON OF FOOD IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE PARTNERED WITH THE POLK COUNTY HEALTH CENTER TO PROVIDE SUMMER LUNCHES TO BOLIVAR AREA STUDENTS AND SERVED OVER 2,582 MEALS IN JULY AND AUGUST.
THRIFT STORE OPERATIONS PROVIDED AFFORDABLE ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY INCLUDING CLOTHES, FURNITURES AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS. THE THRIFT STORE SAW INCREASED SALES IN 2021 AND EXPANDED ITS RECYCLING PROGRAM BY ADDING ALUMINUM CAN RECYCLING TO ITS EXISTING LIST OF RECYCLABLES.
CLIENT ASSISTANCE OPERATIONS PROVIDED ASSISTANCE WITH UTITLIES, HOUSING, FUEL, AND TRAVEL TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN NEED. SERVED 251 HOUSEHOLDS WITH 32,913.52 IN EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. CASE MANAGERS ALSO WORKED WITH INDIVIDUALS ON LONG TERM GOALS AND SELF SUFFICIENCY. IN 2021 A NEW PROGRAM CALLED PROJECT THRIVE WAS STARTED. THIS PROJECT IS AN EMPLOYMENT ACCESS PROGRAM THAT EQUIPS CLIENTS WITH SOFT SKILLS TO RETAIN AND MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT. THE FIRST COHORT GRADUATED IN THE FALL OF 2021.
