TO PROVIDE FIRE FIGHTING, EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND RESCUE SERVICES WITHIN THE BRICELAND DISTRICT AREA AND SUPPORT TO OTHER EMERGENCY SERVICE DEPARTMENTS.

DURING 2021-2022 OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT PROVIDED CA DEPT. OF FORESTRY & FIRE PROTECTION WITH COVER ASSIGNMENTS ON 13 DIFFERENT INCIDENTS WITH FIRE SUPPORT. BVFD PROVIDED 1,813 HOURS OF ENGINE AND WATER TENDER SERVICE WITH 5,280 HOURS OF PERSONNEL SERVICE IN 64 DAYS OF SERVICE. FALL OF 2021 WAS ONE OF THE MOST DEADLY FIRE SEASONS IN CALIFORNIA. WE RESPONDED TO OVER 55 LOCAL FIRE, EMERGENCY AND MEDICAL INCIDENTS IN OUR SERVICE AREA. OUR DEPARTMENT MEMBERS CONTINUED IN 2021-2022 WITH SPECIAL, ADVANCED AND LIVE FIRE TRAININGS AND LOGGED OVER 2,000 PERSON HOURS IN TRAINING TIME. DURING THE SPRING OF 2022 BVFD AGAIN OFFERED A WILDLAND FIRE TRAINING COURSE WHICH WAS FUNDED THIS YEAR BY A GRANT FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT DAVIS. THIS HAS BECOME SO WIDELY KNOWN AND ACCLAIMED FOR THE LEVEL OF TRAINING PROVIDED, BVFD HAS APPROVED THE CREATION OF OUR WILDLAND FIRE TRAINING ACADEMY PROGRAM TO BE OFFERED EVERY YEAR FOR OUR OWN MEMBERS AND OPEN TO OTHER FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL AND THE PUBLIC AS WELL.
