COMPUTER ADOPTION - THIS PROGRAM AWARDS REFURBISHED COMPUTERS TO CHILDREN WHO COMPLETE AN ESSAY AND SUBMIT A SIGNED PARENTAL RELEASE FORM. FAMILIES ARE THEN INVITED TO AN ADOPTION SESSION SCHEDULED AT THEIR SCHOOL ON A PRE-SCHEDULED SATURDAY MORNING. AT THE SESSION, CHILDREN LEARN HOW TO USE AND CARE FOR THEIR COMPUTERS AND ARE INTRODUCED THE EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE INCLUDED ON THE COMPUTERS.
STEAM TEAM IS A HANDS-ON, PROJECT-BASED ENRICHMENT PROGRAM DELIVERED AFTER SCHOOL FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. THIS PROGRAM HELPS STUDENTS SEE THE RELEVANCE OF THEIR INSCHOOL EDUCATION AND REINFORCES CURRICULUM IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, AND MATH THROUGH ENGAGING COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUILDING A BIONIC HAND, ENGINEERING A GREEN-ENERGY SOLAR OVEN, AND SOLVING A WHODUNIT WITH TRIANGULATION.
2. EARLY ADOPTERS - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A STRUCTURED, ENGAGING ENVIRONMENT FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS TO EXPLORE AND LEARN ABOUT TECHNOLOGY. IN EARLY ADOPTERS - MISSION: INNOVATION, STUDENTS BECOME ASTRONAUTS, PRACTICE CODING AND COMPUTER SKILLS, AND LEARN HOW TECHNOLOGY CAN BE USED TO HELP ENHANCE A STORY.
