LOCAL FAMILIES-THESE PROGRAMS SUPPORT FAMILIES OF SICK CHILDREN WHO ARRIVE TO THE US FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME TO HAVE A TREATMENT OR SURGERY. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES THEM ACCOMMODATION, TRANSLATION SERVICES, FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, EMOTIONAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
PRESCHOOL MAINTENANCE - PRESCHOOL FOR TODDLER AGE THREE MONTHS TO SIX YEARS OLD NEAR TEL HASHOMER HOSPITAL IN THE CENTER OF ISRAEL. THE FIRST PRESCHOOL IN THE WORLD FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER, OPENED SIX YEARS AGO. THIS ORGANIZATION IS CONSTRUCTING THE PROJECT IN JOINT VENTURE WITH GDOLIN MEHAHAIM OF ISRAEL. BUILDING HAS COMPLETED AND OPENED 2ND PRESCHOOL AND COMMUNITY CENTER IN THE SOUTHERN PERIPHERY OF ISRAEL IN BEER SHEVA FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER. IT IS A STERILE EDUCATION AND RECOVERY CENTER FOR CHILDREN WHO CANNOT ATTEND ANY REGULAR PRESCHOOL.
SUMMER CAMP FOR TEENAGERS- LARGER THAN LIFE USA INC SUMMER CAMP FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN 8 TO 18, INCLUDED 200 CANCER-STRICKEN CHILDREN FOR FIVE DAYS CAMP. IT ALLOWS THE FAMILY TO RECONNECT WITH A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES. THE COUNSELORS THEMSELVES ARE YOUNG VOLUNTEERS WHOSE CANCER IS IN REMISSION, AND ARE A SOURCE OF SUPPORT. THE CAMP FOR TEENS PROVIDES 24 HOURS FULL MEDICAL SUPERVISION OF DOCTORS AND NURSES.
