IN FYE22, SOUTHERN COOS HEALTH FOUNDATION SUPPORTED SEVERAL AREAS OF THE SOUTHERN COOS HOSPITAL & HEALTH CENTER. THE FOUNDATION DONATED FUNDS TO PROMOTE CONTINUING EDUCATION AMONG OUR NURSING STAFF, SENDING STAFF NURSES TO ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAININGS. SCHF SUPPORTED ONGOING EDUCATION TOWARD HEALTHCARE-RELATED DEGREES VIA EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTED COMMUNITY HEALTH BY RAISING FUNDS FOR THE ANNUAL HOSPITAL FLU CLINIC, A FREE EVENT TO THE PUBLIC. WE HOSTED THE 18TH ANNUAL WOMENS HEALTH DAY, WHICH ATTRACTED OVER 125 ATTENDEES. SCHF CONTINUED THE PRACTICE OF NOT CHARGING ADMISSION TO THE EVENT TO MAKE THE EDUCATION AVAILABLE TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE. THE FOUNDATION ALSO SUPPORTED LOW-INCOME AND UNDER-INSURED WOMEN IN THE COMMUNITY BY OFFERING FREE MAMMOGRAMS TO TEN WOMEN OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR; ADDITIONALLY, SCHF SUBSIDIZED FREE PROSTATE CANCER ANTIGEN (PSA) TESTS FOR MEN. AS THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC SURGED AND ITS IMPACT BECAME CLEARER TO THE SOUTHERN COOS HOSPITAL & HEALTH CENTER AND OUR PATIENT COMMUNITY, THE SOUTHERN COOS HEALTH FOUNDATION DONATED FUNDS TO PROCURE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) AND FUND EMERGENCY SUPPORT FOR AFFECTED EMPLOYEES.
