THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES FUNDS TO SUPPORT FLORIDA SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN IMPLEMENTING THE LESSONS FROM LAUREN'S KIDS "SAFER, SMARTER SCHOOLS" CURRICULUM FOR FLORIDA'S PUBLIC (INCLUDING CHARTER) SCHOOL STUDENTS IN GRADES PRE-KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 12, WITH SUPPORTING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAININGS FOR EDUCATORS. THE ORGANIZATION PUTS ON AN ANNUAL WALK TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND ENCOURAGES THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED TO SPEAK UP. THE WALK IS CALLED "42 HOURS FOR THE 42 MILLION AT THE FLORIDA CAPITOL", BUT IN 2021 WE WERE NOT ABLE TO GO TO THE CAPITOL IN FLORIDA DUE TO COVID-19, SO WE CHANGED THE EVENT TO A VIRTUAL EVENT CALLED "42 MILES FOR THE 42 MILLION" SO WE COULD CONTINUE TO HOST OUR ANNUAL EVENT, BUT IN A SAFE WAY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
