TO PROMOTE MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTANCE AMONG DIVERSE GROUPS SERVING AS A RESOURCE TO BOTH LOCAL INSTITUTUAIONS AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. WE SERVE AS A CATALYSTS FOR CHANGE THROUGH COLLABORATION, EDUCATION, TRAINING DIALOGUE, FELLOWSHIP AND ADVOCACY.
SUMMER PROGRAMS BRIDGE HAS PROVIDED A SUMMER EDUCATION PROGRAM TO CHILDREN FROM DIVERSE GROUPS SINCE 2009. THE MAJORITY OF OUR PARTICIPANTS CAME FROM UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES AND MINORITY GROUPS. IT IS A PROGRAM WHERE CHILDREN EXPLORE CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND DEVELOP SKILLS IN RESILIENCE AND MINDFULNESS. THEY EXPLORE LANGUAGES LIKE SPANISH, FRENCH AND COMPUTER CODING. THEY PLAY SPORTS AND GAMES FOSTERING TEAM BUILDING SKILLS. THEY PRACTICE MINDFULNESS AND SELF-REGULATION SKILLS. THEY MOVE THROUGH THE DAY WITH A GROWTH MINDSET.
TRJ-DUBOIS 150TH THE TOWARDS RACIAL JUSTICE AND EQUITY PROGRAM HAS SEVERAL CAMPAIGNS. THE DU BOIS CAMPAIGN, FOR EXAMPLE IS A PROGRAM PARTNERING WITH THE TOWN OF GREAT BARRINGTON TO CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF DR. W.E.B. DU BOIS (1868-1963) WHO IS A BLACK NATIVE OF GREAT BARRINGTON, A SOCIAL JUSTICE ADVOCATE, A WRITER, AND THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN GRADUATE OF THE HARVARD DOCTORATE PROGRAM.
