THE MIRACLE LEAGUE OF DES MOINES KIWANIS OPERATES A BASEBALL LEAGUE AND FACILITY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, WITHOUT COST TO THE PARTICIPANT. DURING THE YEAR 2022, THE LEAGUE OPENED WITH NEAR-NORMAL PLAYING CONDITIONS AFTER AN ABREVIATED 2021 SPRING SEASON AND A CANCELED FALL SEASON DUE TO COVID 19 CONCERNS. THE LEAGUE SERVED 170 PLAYERS IN THE SPRING SEASON AND 150 IN THE FALL SEASON, HOLDING MORE THAT 130 GAMES AND SPECIAL EVENTS DURING THE YEAR. AFTER THE FALL SEASON, THE LEAGUE BEGAN WORK ON AN ALL-DIGITAL SCOREBOARD WHICH WILL ENABLE REAL-TIME VIDEO OF OUR PLAYERS AT BAT AND ON THE FIELD, ADDING TO THE EXCITEMENT OF THE GAME. ALSO PLANNED FOR THE 2023 SEASON IS LIVE STEAMING OF THE GAMES FOR GREATER PARTICIPATION BY PLAYER FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.
