TO ADDRESS AND SUPPORT THE SOCIAL/CULTURAL, EMOTIONAL, MENTAL, SPIRITUAL, AND PHYSICAL NEEDS OF NATIVE PEOPLE OF ALL TRIBES LIVING IN THE BISMARCK-MANDAN AND SURROUNDING AREA IN ORDER TO FOSTER STRONG, SELF-SUFFICIENT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES, AND TO PROVIDE LIAISON SERVICES BETWEEN NATIVE AND NON-NATIVE PEOPLE IN ORDER TO FOSTER A COHESIVE COMMUNITY.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT (FIRST NATIONS, OTTO BREMER, NUIFC, UNITED WAY, TC ENERGY) SPRC PROVIDED SERVICES TO THE AMERICAN INDIAN COMMUNITY BY COORDINATING ACTIVITIES OF FOUR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TEAMS, EACH WORKING ON A COMMUNITY BUILDING PROJECT SUCH AS HEALTH FAIRS, CROSS-CULTURAL AND DIVERSITY EVENTS, AND FAMILY-BUILDING ACTIVITIES. WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 900 INDIVIDUALS FROM THE ESTIMATED 4,500 POPULATION OF AMERICAN INDIANS IN BISMARCK-MANDAN.
GENERAL OPERATIONS (DONATIONS, WORKSHOPS, ETC.) SPRC PROVIDED GAP-BASED SERVICES - THOSE NOT FILLED BY OTHER LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROVIDERS - INCLUDING DATA GATHERING ON THE AMERICAN INDIAN POPULATION, SERVICES FOR HOMELESS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, CIVIC/COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND FAMILY-ORIENTED EVENTS. WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 1,500 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR VARIOUS EVENTS, HELD AT LEAST MONTHLY.
YOUTH ENGAGEMENT (RUNNING STRONG, ETC.)SPRC PROVIDED SPECIFIC SERVICES TO AMERICAN INDIAN YOUTH TO HELP ADDRESS THE OVERREPRESENTATION OF YOUTH IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND PROVIDE POSITIVE CULTURAL EXPERIENCES AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 300 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR MONTHLY YOUTH EVENTS.
