SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES: IN 2021, CAPND HOUSED OVER 325 VETERANS ACROSS NORTH DAKOTA WHO WERE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. CAPND ADMINISTERED COMMUNITY OUTREACH, INDIVIDUALIZED CASE MANAGEMENT AND TEMPORARY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO INCREASE HOUSING STABILITY FOR THESE VETERANS. CONNECTIONS TO ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES SUCH AS LEGAL SERVICES, TRANSPORTATION, BUDGET COUNSELING, EMPLOYMENT AND VOCATIONAL SUPPORT WERE ALSO PROVIDED.
THE REGION 8 REGIONAL PERFORMANCE INNOVATION CONSORTIUM (RPIC), IS A SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY ACTION STATE ASSOCIATIONS WHO SERVE ALL 75 COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES AND CSBG-ELIGIBLE ENTITIES IN THE STATES OF: COLORADO, MONTANA, NORTH DAKOTA, SOUTH DAKOTA, UTAH, AND WYOMING. COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP OF NORTH DAKOTA (CAPND) SERVES AS THE LEAD ON THE PROJECT. IN 2021, THE RPIC IS CONTINUING TO SUCCESSFULLY SHIFT FROM IN-PERSON TRAINING TO HOSTING A SERIES OF VIRTUAL TRAININGS ACROSS REGION 8.
RENTAL ASSISTANCE: COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES ACROSS NORTH DAKOTA CAN HELP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES APPLY FOR ND RENT HELP, A RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE ND DEPT. OF HUMAN SERVICES. AT ALL OF OUR LOCATIONS, WE HAVE BOTH APPLICATION COUNSELORS AND HOUSING FACILITATORS THAT CAN PROVIDE HELP THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. COMMUNITY ACTION STAFF SPECIALIZING IN THE ND RENT HELP PROGRAM ARE ABLE TO ASSIST WITH COMPLETION AND SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION. COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES ALSO HAVE HOUSING FACILITATORS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS WHO ARE AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS OR HOUSING INSTABILITY TO MAINTAIN HOUSING.
