THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE AT IMMERSE HOUSES INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WHILE IN THE UNITED STATES. STUDENTS INCLUDE TOURISTS STUDYING AT OUR INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM OR AT ONE OF THE COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES IN THE LANCASTER AREA. ADDITIONALLY, WE PROVIDE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS FOR RESIDENTS AND STUDENTS STUDYING ESL TO GET TO KNOW AMERICAN CITIZENS. IMMERSE INTERNATIONAL HAS PARTNERED WITH ONELIFE INSTITUTE TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR THE "BRIDGE THE GAP" PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SERVICES FOR REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS WHO HAVE GRADUATED FROM A U.S. HIGH SCHOOL. SERVICES INCLUDE INCLUDE: MENTORING, OFFERING ACADEMIC ENGLISH COURSES, PROVIDING INTERNSHIP/CO-OPS, HOUSING, AND OTHER ACADEMIC ADVISORY SERVICES.
OUR INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM (IELP) SERVES INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THE PROGRAM CURRENTLY IS IN THE MIDST OF A 3-YEAR ACCREDITATION PROCESS, PROVDES OVER 560 HOURS OF INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGAGE EACH YEAR TO HELP STUDENTS ACHIEVE THEIR COLLEGIATE OR PROFESSIONAL GOALS. STUDENTS APPLY TO THE PROGRAM AND ARE GIVEN A PLACEMENT TESET. IN ADDITION TO THE LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION, WE PROVIDE COUNSELING AND ADVISEMENT FOR THE STUDENTS TO ASSIST WITH POST-GRADUATION TRANSITION FROM OUR PROGRAM, INCLUDING NEXT STEPS TOWARD COLLEGIATE OR PROFESSIONAL CHOICES. STUDENTS TAKE FIELD TRIPS TO LOCAL AREA COLLEGES AND TRADE SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS LOCAL BUSINESSES AD TOURIST LOCATIONS BUILT INTO THE CIRRICULUM AT THE IELP.
