THE CLOTHING BANK OF NORWALK OHIO PROVIDES GENTLY USED CLOTHING IN AN ATTRACTIVE AND INVITING ATMOSPHERE. PERSONS IN NEED WHO RESIDE IN HURON COUNTY AND NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES MAY SHOP FOR FREE CLOTHING. NEED IS DEFINED BY ANYONE WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO PURCHASE CLOTHING OR FINDS IT A FINANCIAL STRAIN TO CLOTHE THEIR FAMILIES.

DONATIONS DISTRIBUTED - HELPS FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS MEET THEIR BASIC NEEDS BY RE-DISTRIBUTING DONATED USED CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD GOODS, BEDDING, ETC. DONATED CLOTHING IS PROVIDED LOCALLY AND IS PRIMARILY DISTRIBUTED TO RESIDENTS OF HURON COUNTY AND NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES. THE CLOTHING BANK WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH SEVERAL AREA AGENCIES INCLUDING THE SALVATION ARMY TO MAKE SURE AREA CHILDREN HAVE COATS AND HELP PROVIDE CLOTHING FOR SPECIAL SUMMER PROGRAMS AND GOODWILL TO SHARE SURPLUS ITEMS. THE LOCAL RED CROSS, FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS MAKE REFERRALS TO THOSE IN NEED AFTER EXPERIENCING PERSONAL EMERGENCIES SUCH AS FIRES AND FLOODS.
DONATIONS RECYCLED - DONATED ITEMS THAT ARE NOT IN GOOD CONDITION (STAINED, TORN,BROKEN ZIPPERS, ETC) ARE GIVEN TO PUMP HOUSE MINISTRIES TO BE RECYCLED.
UNUSABLE DONATIONS - DONATED ITEMS THAT ARE UNUSABLE OR UNSALVAGABLE (BROKEN, MOLDY) ARE NOT REDISTRIBUTED; THEY ARE PUT IN THE GARBAGE DUE TO THE RISK THEY POSE TO OUR VOLUNTEERS AND CLIENTS.
