GNMC PROVIDES A MEDICAL HOME TO LOW-INCOME UNINSURED ADULTS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. SERVICES INCLUDE PHYSICAL EXAMS, MANAGEMENT OF CHRONIC ILLNESS, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF ACUTE ILLNESS, AND PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE. THE CLINIC ALSO PROVIDES LIMITED IN-HOUSE SPECIALTY CARE INCLUDING CARDIOLOGY, GASTROENTEROLOGY, GYNECOLOGY, OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS (ENT), PHYSICAL THERAPY, PODIATRY, GENERAL SURGERY, DIABETIC AND NUTRITION EDUCATION. OTHER SPECIALTY CARE IS PROVIDED THROUGH OUTSIDE REFERRALS, SUCH AS ADDICTION MEDICINE, DENTAL, NEUROLOGY, OPHTHALMOLOGY, ORTHOPEDIC, PAIN MANAGEMENT, PULMONOLOGY, UROLOGY, AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. MEDICAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEERS INCLUDING OVER 40 CLINICIANS (GENERAL PRACTICE PHYSICIANS, SPECIALTY PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS, NURSE PRACTITIONERS, REGISTERED NURSES AND PHARMACISTS). MORE THAN 40 NON-CLINICAL VOLUNTEERS STAFF THE FRONT OFFICE, PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES. COMBINED CLINICAL AND NON-CLINICAL VOLUNTEERS DONATED MORE THAN 7530 HOURS OF SERVICE IN 2021.DURING THE 2021 YEAR, GNMC DELIVERED $3.7 MILLION IN SERVICES AND PRESCRIPTIONS TO OVER 776 ENROLLED PATIENTS RESULTING IN 3088 TOTAL PATIENT MEDICAL VISITS, 2398 LAB & IMAGING SERVICES AND 579 PATIENTS REFERRED TO OUTSIDE SPECIALTY CARE. REGISTERED AND CERTIFIED WITH BOTH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FREE AND CHARITABLE CLINICS AS WELL AS THE SC ASSOCIATION OF FREE AND CHARITABLE CLINICS, GNMC ACHIEVED A GOLD STAR RATING WITH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FREE AND CHARITABLE CLINICS FOR THE 2021 SERVICE YEAR. ADDITIONAL PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2021 INCLUDED ADDING NEW TECHNOLOGY TO ALLOW FOR TELEMEDICINE VISITS, ADDING SOFTWARE TO ALLOW FOR PATIENT SURVEYS, ONLINE MEDICAL RECORDS AND VOLUNTEER TRACKING, RELOCATING TO A NEW MORE VISIBLE LOCATION IN THE MEDICAL DISTRICT, ADDING STAFF TO MAINTAIN A CONTINUITY OF CARE INCLUDING A NEW MEDICAL DIRECTOR, AND EXPANDING PROGRAMS TO INCLUDE BEST CHANCE NETWORK, DHECS BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER EARLY DETECTION PROGRAM AS WELL AS ADDING NEW IN- HOUSE SPECIALTY CARE.
