THIS BI-ANNUAL PROGRAM BRINGS ARTISTS, WRITERS, ACTORS AND OTHER SPEAKERS INTO HIGHLAND PARK HIGH SCHOOL FOR A 3 DAY EVENT, USUALLY HELD IN THE SPRING. EVERY STUDENT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE EVENT, WHICH REPLACES THE REGULAR SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE. IN ADDITION TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, STUDENTS FROM ALL LOCAL ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS, MEMBERS FROM SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES, AND OTHER VISITORS ARE INVITED AND ATTEND THE EVENT. THIS INCLUDES STUDENTS WHO ARE BROUGHT IN FROM CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS. FOCUS ON THE ARTS IS FULLY FUNDED WITH DONATIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY, LOCAL PTO/PTAS AND LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS. PUBLICITY FOR THE EVENT IS COVERED IN ALL LOCAL PAPERS, THROUGH PERSONAL CONTACT WITH VARIOUS SCHOOLS AND STUDENT GROUPS, AND MASS MAILINGS.
