THE MAIN FUNCTION OF THE WILLIAMS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION IS TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY LOSSES RESULTING FROM FIRE AND OTHER DISASTERS IN THE CITY OF WILLIAMS AND THE WILLIAMS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT WITHIN COLUSA COUNTY. THE WILLIAMS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION ALSO PROVIDES VARIOUS FORMS OF ASSISTANCE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.

ALL VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS BELONGING TO THE WILLIAMS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION PROVIDE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY LOSSES RESULTING FROM FIRE AND OTHER DISASTERS WITHIN THE RESPONSE AREA THAT IS SERVES.2. PROVIDES GENERAL ASSISTANCE TO THE PUBLIC AS NEEDED.3. SPONSORSHIP OF VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND EVENTS TO SERVE THE GENERAL POPULATION OF THE RESPONSE AREA THAT IT SERVES (CITY OF WILLIAMS, WILLIAMS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT OF COLUSA COUNTY). 4. THE WILLIAMS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION HOLDS FUNDRAISERS IN ORDER TO RAISE FUNDS TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT (RESCUE TOOLS, MEDICAL EQUIPMENT) AND TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE SUPPLIES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE PUBLIC EDUCATION TO THE YOUTH (EXAMPLE IS SANTA'S VISIT ON CHRISTMAS EVE EACH YEAR).
