DURING 2021, TWELVE STONES MINISTRIES COUNSELED 113 INDIVIDUALS (WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF 110 ADVOCATES). TWELVE STONES MINISTRIES PROVIDES COUNSELING BEYOND THE STANDARD ONE-HOUR, ONCE-PER-WEEK SESSION. ONE TO THREE DAY INTENSIVE COUNSELING SESSIONS ARE HELD IN A REMOTE RETREAT SETTING. COUNSELING IS BIBLICALLY BASED AND STRIVES TO ASSIST THOSE STRUGGLING WITH ADDICTIONS, MARITAL STRIFE, FAMILY DISCORD, GRIEF AND DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR. THIS ENVIRONMENT OFTEN PROVIDES THE BREAKTHROUGH NEEDED TO BEGIN THE PROCESS OF HEALING. UNIQUE TO THE MODEL IS THE INVOLVEMENT OF AN "ADVOCATE". THE ADVOCATE IS OFTEN A FAMILY FRIEND, CLOSE FRIEND, MARRIED COUPLE OR CHURCH LEADER THAT TRAVELS TO THE RETREAT SITE WITH THE COUNSELEE. UPON RETURNING TO THEIR COMMUNITY, THE ADVOCATE CONTINUES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT - WHICH EXTENDS THE IMPACT OF THE COUNSELING.
