BIBLE PUBLISHING THE PURPOSE OF CROSSWAY'S BIBLE DEPARTMENT IS TO CREATE OUTSTANDING BIBLES AND BIBLE RESOURCES THAT BEAR WITNESS TO THE GOSPEL AND THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD IN ALL OF LIFE, AND THAT SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE GLOBAL CHURCH; SEE THE LORD'S GRACIOUS PROVISION IN OUR WORK; AND GIVE HONOR AND GLORY TO THE LORD. THE ESV BIBLE (ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION) IS AN "ESSENTIALLY LITERAL" TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE IN CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH. CREATED BY A TEAM OF MORE THAN 100 LEADING EVANGELICAL SCHOLARS AND PASTORS, THE ESV BIBLE EMPHASIZES "WORD-FOR-WORD" ACCURACY, LITERARY EXCELLENCE, AND DEPTH OF MEANING.
