NEEDS FLAGSHIP PROGRAM AWARDS GRANTS TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS TO FILL THE GAPS WHEN ALL LOCAL,STATE, AND FEDERAL COLLEGE FUNDINGSOURCES HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED. MANY OF THE STUDENTS RECEIVING LAST DOLLAR GRANTS ARE FIRST GENERATION, LOW INCOME AT-RISK STUDENTS.


NEED PROVIDES VARIOUS STUDENT SERVICE PROGRAMS TO HELP YOUTH FROM THE PITTSBURGH REGION TO ASPIRE TO, LEARN ABOUT,PREPARE FOR AND COMPLETE HIGHER EDUCATION.THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE MENTORING INITIATIVE, ACCESS TO COLLEGE & CAREER EDUCATION PROGRAM,WORKFORCE DIVERSITY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, HISTORICAL BLACK COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY TOUR AND THE STEM PROGRAM.
