THE PENNSYLVANIA ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN'S MISSION IS TO BE AN EFFECTIVE VOICE FOR HIGH-QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION. WE DO THIS THROUGH POLICY DEVELOPMENT, ADVOCACY AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORTS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD PROFESSIONALS.

PENNAEYC CONDUCTS OUTREACH ACROSS THE STATE TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND ELECTED OFFICIALS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, MEETINGS, PRESENTATIONS, EVENTS, NEWSLETTERS, AND E-COMMUNICATIONS. STAFF PARTICIPATE IN STATEWIDE AND LOCAL COALITIONS WITH THE FOCUS ON PROMOTING THE IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND SYSTEM FOR PENNSYLVANIA. PENNAEYC ALSO OFFERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS THAT ARE ROOTED IN DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICES FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.
