OUR MAIN PROGRAM INCLUDES ONE-ON-ONE LESSONS, MUSIC THEORY, AFRICAN DRUMMING AND VOCAL CLASS. JAZZ LAB: THE ENSEMBLE CONSISTS OF STUDENTS FROM AAMI WHO EXCEL ON THEIR PARTICULAR INSTRUMENT. THE ENSEMBLE PROVIDES PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH WHO HAVE STUDIED INSTRUCTION IN COMPOSITION, IMPROVISATION, BASIC THEORY, CHART READING AND EAR TRAINING. BOYD SCHOIR: AUDITIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL YOUNG MALES, STARTING AT THE AGE OF EIGHT. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO DISPLAY INTENSE ENERGY AND A STRONG DESIRE TO SING AND PERFORM. SUMMER MUSIC INSTITUTE: 2-WEEK IMMERSION PROGRAM WITH INSTRUCTION IN MUSIC FINDAMENTALS, IMPROVISATION, VOICE, KEYBOARDS AND AFRICAN DRUMMING AND DANCE. THIS 2-WEEK SESSION CULMINATES IN A PERFORMANCE.
