(BFCTC) IS DEDICATED TO THE COMPLETION, MAINTENANCE AND ON-GOING USE OF A RECREATIONAL TRAIL ALONG THE ENTIRE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THE ABANDONED CONRAIL RAILROAD EXTENDING FROM BUTLER, PA TO FREEPORT, PA. SINCE ITS INCORPORATION IN PENNSYLVANIA, THIS ALL VOLUNTEER CITIZEN GROUP HAS BEEN BUILDING A COMMUNITY COALITION TO PROMOTE THE BFCTC TRAIL AS A NEW LINEAR PARK FOR SOUTHWESTERN PA. BFCTC IS USING CONTRIBUTIONS AND GRANTS TO ACCOMPLISH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BFCTC PATHWAY, COMPLETION OF BRIDGE MODIFICATIONS, AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY BY THE ELDERLY, HANDICAPPED AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. AND FINALLY, A COMMITTMENT BY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS TO INSURE THAT TRAIL MAINTENANCE AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS REQUIRED FOR TRAIL OPERATIONS ARE PERFORMED, AND CONTINUE TO PROMOTE TRAIL USE, FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND SPECIAL EVENTS FOR THE PURPOSE AND BENEFIT OF TRAIL MAINTENANCE.
