SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1983, FLM-HAITI HAS PROVIDED BASIC LITERACY EDUCATION (A TWO-YEAR HAITIAN-GOVERNMENT CERTIFIED CURRICULUM IN READING, WRITING, AND MATH) TO MORE THAN 40,000 ADULT HAITIAN MEN AND WOMEN THROUGH ITS 70+ ADULT LITERACY CENTERS. ADDITIONALLY, SINCE 1989 FLM - HAITI HAS OPERATED A PERMANENT SCHOOL, CERTIFIED BY THE HAITIAN GOVERNMENT, FOR 650+ CHILDREN GRADES PRESCHOOL - GRADE 13. THE STUDENTS ARE ALSO PROVIDED A HOT LUNCH WITH VITAMINS.
FLM - HAITI'S COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE AND AFFORDABLE MEDICAL & DENTAL CARE TO A PATIENT BASE OF 5,000 MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITY OF THOMASSIN. THE ALL-HAITIAN STAFF INCLUDES TWO PHYSICIANS, A DENTIST, A PEDIATRICIAN, A GYNECOLOGIST, NURSES, A LAB TECH AND A PHARMACIST.
FLM-HAITI OPERATES A GUEST HOUSE PROVIDING SAFE, COMFORTABLE, AND AFFORDABLE ACCOMMODATION FOR VISITING MISSION TEAMS OF UP TO 24 MEMBERS.
IN 2016 FLM - HAITI BEGAN OPERATION OF ITS NEWLY CONSTRUCTED TECHNICAL INSTITUTE. CURRENTLY, 40+ STUDENTS ARE ENROLLED IN CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS IN PLUMBING, ELECTRICTY, ENGLISH LANGUAGE, AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY. MORE THAN 600 STUDENTS HAVE COMPLETED AN 'INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS COURSE.'
