THE MISSION OF MAKE-A-WISH GREATER PENNSYLVANIA AND WEST VIRGINIA IS TO CREATE LIFE-CHANGING WISHES FOR CHILDREN WITH CRITICAL ILLNESSES. THROUGH MAY 2022, MAKE-A-WISH CONTINUED WITH A MORATORIUM ON ALL TRAVEL-RELATED WISHES (WHICH MAKES UP APPROXIMATELY 75% OF ALL WISHES). WHILE NORMALLY GRANTING 600+ WISHES, THE CHAPTER GRANTED 392 WISHES IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING AUGUST 31, 2022. WISHES INCLUDED 98 GIFT WISHES. 88 SHOPPING SPREES, 79 TRIPS TO WALT DISNEY WORLD, 29 PLAY SETS OR PLAYHOUSES AND 18 SWIMMING POOLS. UNIQUE WISHES INCLUDE JULIANNA'S WISH FOR A SHOW HORSE, CADEN'S WISH TO ATTEND THE SUPER BOWL, RIVER'S WISH FOR A BARITONE SAXOPHONE, JAMES' WISH FOR A HOME GYM, GAVIN'S WISH TO GO ON A DINOSAUR DIG, ANNALEIGH'S WISH FOR A BACKYARD FAIRY GARDEN AND LANDEN'S WISH TO BE A POLICE OFFICER.
