TO PROMOTE AND BENEFIT THE ASSOCIATION FOR IRON AND STEEL TECHNOLOGY THROUGH THE INVESTMENT OF FUNDS AND THE PROVIDING OF RESEARCH GRANTS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND STUDENT PROGRAMS THAT SERVE TO ADVANCE THE IRON, STEEL AND RELATED INDUSTRIES.

THE AIST FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS TO INSTRUCTORS TO ENCOURAGE MORE STUDENTS TO CHOOSE THE STEEL INDUSTRY AS THEIR FIELD OF STUDY; TO RECRUIT MORE OF SUCH GRADUATES TO THE STEEL INDUSTRY, AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF INSTRUCTORS KNOWLEDGEABLE IN STEEL IN NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES.THESE GRANTS INCLUDE, STEEL CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT GRANTS, KENT D. PEASLEE JUNIOR FACULTY AWARD, STEEL PROFESSOR GRANTS, DON DAILY SAFETY GRANTS, DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES GRANTS, AND SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES GRANTS AMONG OTHER SUPPORT FOR TEACHING PROFESSIONALS.
