LONGWOOD GARDENS, INC., LOCATED IN KENNETT SQUARE, PENNSYLVANIA, IS THE LIVING LEGACY OF PIERRE S. DU PONT, INSPIRING PEOPLE THROUGH EXCELLENCE IN GARDEN DESIGN, HORTICULTURE, EDUCATION, AND THE ARTS. LONGWOOD GARDENS IS ONE OF THE GREAT GARDENS OF THE WORLD, ALWAYS STRIVING FOR INNOVATION IN HORTICULTURE AND DISPLAY. LONGWOOD GARDENS PRESENTS THE ARTS IN AN UNPARALLELED SETTING BRINGING PLEASURE, INSPIRATION AND IMAGINATION TO OUR GUESTS. THROUGH EXCELLENT AND DIVERSE EDUCATION PROGRAMS, HORTICULTURE RESEARCH, ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP, AND CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, LONGWOOD GARDENS GREATLY CONTRIBUTES TO SOCIETY.
IN OCTOBER 2018, LONGWOOD CEMETERY LLC WAS FORMED TO ASSUME OWNERSHIP AND OPERATIONS OF THE CEMETERY WHICH ADJOINS LONGWOOD GARDENS. LONGWOOD GARDENS IS THE SOLE MEMBER OF LONGWOOD CEMETERY LLC. CHARTERED IN 1855, THE LONGWOOD CEMETERY HAS LONG SERVED AS A PLACE OF PEACE AND HAS HELPED TELL THE STORY OF SOME OF THE BRANDYWINE VALLEY'S MOST REVERED, FROM WAR HEROES TO ARDENT ABOLITIONISTS. THE CEMETERY SITS ON LAND ONCE GRANTED BY WILLIAM PENN, LOCATED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE 1854 HISTORIC LONGWOOD MEETING HOUSE AND AT THE ENTRANCE TO LONGWOOD GARDENS. LONGWOOD GARDENS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND UP-KEEP OF THE CEMETERY.
