GOVERNED BY PARTNERING HOSPITALS, SAINT VINCENT HOSPITAL AND UPMC HAMOT, REGIONAL CANCER CENTER (RCC) EXISTS TO PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH CANCER AND BLOOD DISORDERS WITH A COMMITMENT TO ADVANCED CARE MODALITIES, CLINICAL RESEARCH AND OPTIMAL QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES.BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIANS AND MORE THAN 150 STAFF PROVIDE CARE TO THOUSANDS OF REGIONAL RESIDENTS EACH YEAR. LEADING EDGE MEDICAL ONCOLOGY, HEMATOLOGY AND RADIATION ONCOLOGY TREATMENTS ARE OPTIMALLY COORDINATED.REGIONAL CANCER CENTER'S PHYSICIANS ARE ENGAGED FULL-TIME IN CLINICAL PRACTICE. THEIR FIRST PRIORITY IS SEEING AND CARING FOR PATIENTS. AT THE SAME TIME, THEY HAVE ACCESS TO THE LATEST RESEARCH ON CANCER TREATMENTS. WITH PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR PATIENTS AND INFORMATION ON THE NEWEST CANCER CARE OPTIONS, THEY CAN PURSUE THE MOST EFFECTIVE CARE PLANS. IN ADDITION THEY HAVE ACCESS TO UPMC HILLMAN CANCER CENTER'S CLINICAL PATHWAYS THAT PROVIDE GUIDELINES FOR DRUG AND RADIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT OF CANCER. PATHWAYS ENSURE THAT ALL PATIENTS TREATED AT ALL UPMC HILLMAN CANCER CENTER AFFILIATES, NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED, RECEIVE THE SAME STATE-OF-THE-ART EVIDENCE BASED CARE.
