THE ALLEGHENY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES (LEAGUE) WAS CREATED TO PROMOTE INTERGOVERNMENTAL CO-OPERATION BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ALLEGHENY AND ITS 130 MUNICIPALITIES BY PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIONAL SERVICES. THE LEAGUE PROVIDES A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AND PROGRAMS THAT BENEFIT THESE MUNICIPALITIES AND ALLOWS THEM TO OPERATE IN A MORE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE MANNER. IN ADDITION, THE LEAGUE MANAGES A NON-PROFIT CONSULTING SERVICE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ITS MEMBERSHIP. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PAIR A QUALIFIED MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATOR, GENERALLY IN A PART-TIME OR CASUAL CAPACITY TO ASSIST THE MUNICIPALITY WITH JOB SEARCHES, TALENT ACQUISITION, STRATEGIC PLANNING AND ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS TO FOSTER BEST PRACTICES IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION.

ALOM ACTS AS A CONDUIT BETWEEN THE ALLEGHENY COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF TOWNSHIP OFFICIALS (ACATO), THE ALLEGHENY COUNTY BOROUGHS ASSOCIATION (ACBA) AND THE ALLEGHENY COUNTY & WESTERN PA ASSOCIATION OF TOWNSHIP COMMISSIONERS (AC&WPATC). ADDITIONALLY, ALOM IS THE PLAN SPONSOR OF 401(A) AND 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PROGRAMS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO GOVERNMENT ENTITIES TO OFFER THEIR EMPLOYEES. IN ADDITION, ACCESS TO NEWSLETTERS AND CRITICAL INFORMATION ON RELEVANT BENEFITS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.
