THE MISSION OF BEGINNINGS, INC. IS TO ENHANCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND EMPOWER THEIR FAMILIES BY PROVIDING "THE BEST START A CHILD CAN HAVE" AS WE WORK TO ENABLE CHILDREN TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENTALLY AND HELP FAMILIES GROW STRONG THROUGH EARLY INTERVENTION AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
HOME BASED EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM PROVIDING SERVICES FOR CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO FIVE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS AND/OR DISABILITIES.
COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE PROGRAM ADVOCATES FOR THE BEST INTERESTS OF ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN BY RECRUITING, SCREENING, TRAINING AND SUPERVISING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS WHO REPORT TO THE COURT AND WORK WITH THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM TO ASSURE THAT THE CHILDREN'S NEEDS ARE BEING MET AND TO ENSURE TIMELY PLACEMENT IN A SAFE, PERMANENT, NURTURING HOME.
PARENTS AS TEACHERS PROMOTES HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG CHILDREN BIRTH TO THREE YEARS OF AGE. SERVICES OFFERED BY THE PROGRAM INCLUDE HOME VISITS BY A CERTIVIED PARENT EDUCATOR WITH AN EVALUATION OF THE CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT. PARENTS RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT CHILD DEVELOPMENT, CHILDCARE, PARENTING AND NUTRITION AND, AS NECESSARY, REFERRALS TO OTHER APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY SERVICES. PARENT EDUCATORS SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO HELP THEIR CHILDREN DEVELOP.
