RACES - TO FURTHER ITS MISSION IN PROMOTING RACING AS A COMPETITIVE SPORT OR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY, MINNESOTA DISTANCE RUNNING ASSOCIATION HOLDS RACES AND WORKS COOPERATIVELY TO PUBLICIZE THE RACING INITIATIVES OF 300 OTHER MINNESOTA BASED RACE ORGANIZATIONS. THE ASSOCIATION STRIVES TO PROVIDE RUNNERS ACROSS MINNESOTA WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN RACES FOR A VERY LOW COST OR FREE OF CHARGE SO THAT INCOME IS NOT A BARRIER TO RACE PARTICIPATION.
TRAINING PROGRAMS - MINNESOTA DISTANCE RUNNING ASSOCIATION PROVIDES TRAINING PROGRAMS, INFORMATIONAL CLINICS, AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO FURTHER THE ASSOCIATION'S MISSION TO HELP MEMBERS ACHIEVE THEIR RUNNING GOALS. IN 2021 THE ASSOCIATION HELD 5 PROGRAMS WHICH INCLUDED THE FALL AND SPRING HALF AND FULL MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAMS, AND THE MDRA GRAND PRIX.
PERIODICALS - THROUGH THE PUBLICATION OF MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTERS, QUARTERLY RUNMINNESOTA MAGAZINE, AND THE ANNUAL RUNNING MINNESOTA TRAINING LOG AND RACE CALENDAR, MDRA DISSEMINATES INFORMATION ON VARIOUS TOPICS TO THE RUNNING COMMUNITY SUCH AS UPCOMING RACES, RESEARCH PROJECTS, EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING PRACTICES, RACE RESULTS/RECAPS, AND OTHER STORIES OF INTEREST TO THE RUNNING COMMUNITY.
THE ASSOCIATION ALSO CONDUCTS SMALLER INITIATIVES INCLUDING A RACING EQUIPMENT RENTAL PROGRAM, A MERCHANDISING PROGRAM TO PROVIDE RUNNERS WITH BRANDED RUNNING GEAR.
