LVK SERVES INDIVIDUALS WHO DO NOT HAVE ENGLISH AS THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE, WHO NEED GENERAL READING HELP, FINANCIAL LITERACY, TECHNOLOGY LITERACY, HEALTH LITERACY, AND WHO NEED HELP TO ACCOMPLISH OTHER WORKPLACE OR EDUCATIONAL GOALS. THERE ARE NO ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES OR COST FOR LITERACY SERVICES. LVK IS LEARNER-CENTERED, ENSURING THE FOCUS IS ON THE SPECIFIC GOALS OF EACH LEARNER. LVK BELIEVES THAT THE ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE, TO UNDERSTAND AND BE UNDERSTOOD, IS CRITICAL TO PERSONAL FREEDOM AND THE MAINTENANCE OF A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY.
