TO RAISE MONEY TO SUPPORT 501(C)3 ORGANIZATIONS AND FUND PROGRAMS NEEDED BY THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

BACKPACK PROJECT - PROGRAM TO PROVIDE FOOD IN THE HOME ENVIRONMENT FOR THOSE CHILDREN NEEDING ASSISTANCE. WORK WITH FOOD FINDERS ORGANIZATION WHO PROVIDED THE MENU/ GUIDELINES TO FOLLOW. CLUB WORKED WITH KROGER COMPANY TO PROVIDE MILK COUPONS. APPROXIMATELY 1000 VOLUNTEER HOURS OVER 35 WEEKS. ASSISTED APPROXIMATELY 84 FAMILIES WITH BACKPACKS WITH FOOD.
PROVIDE FUNDING TO PURCHASE BOOKS AND MAILING THEM EACH MONTH TO CHILDREN RESIDING IN TIPPECANOE COUNTY THROUGH THE RIGHT STEPS DEVELOPMENT CENTERS. TOTAL FUNDING FOR THE FISCAL YEAR WAS $15,750 TO OVER 440 CHILDREN AGES MONTHS TO 5 YEARS OLD.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELORS HAVE APPLICATIONS AS PART OF THEIR OVERALL COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS. STUDENTS CHOSEN FROM LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS AND ONE FROM PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS. STUDENTS ARE INVITED GUESTS TO MEETINGS. VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS WORK WITH THEIR GUIDANCE COUNSELORS. SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS ARE CHOSEN BY COMMITTEE BASED ON MERIT AND OVERALL APPLICATION TO PROGRAM. ALL STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO AN AWARDS LUNCHEON. PROGRAM PROVIDED 4 SCHOLARSHIPS OF A $1,000 TO UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES WITH 3 SCHOLARSHIP TO PURDUE UNIVERSITY AND 1 TO DARTMOUTH COLLEGE. THE OTHER 11 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE TO IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
