THE PHILADELPHIA SHIP PRESERVATION GUILD IS A VOLUNTEER CENTERED NON PROFIT 501C(3) CORPORATION DEDICATED TO PRESERVING HISTORIC SHIPS AND TEACHING SEAMANSHIP, RESTORATION SKILLS, MARITIME SCIENCE AND CULTURE. THE GUILD MAINTAINS AND OPERATES TWO HISTORIC VESSELS: THE TALL SHIP GAZELA BUILT IN 1901 AND THE TUGBOAT JUPITER BUILT IN 1902. IN 2020 EVENTS AND EDUCATION PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES WERE LIMITED DUE TO THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC. SIGNIFIGANT MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WORK CONTINUED ON PSPG VESSELS AS CIRCUMSTANCES PERMITTED. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE EDUCATION PROGRAM CONTINUED IN EARNEST AS WELL AS A LONGSTANDING EFFORT TO REVAMP THE ADMINISTRATIVE CAPABILITY OF PSPG.
