COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES OUR LA COUNTY-FUNDED PROGRAM SERVICES ENABLE US TO EXPAND OUR SERVICE OFFERINGS TO A BROADER CLIENTELE. THROUGH A VARIETY OF LA COUNTY FUNDED GRANTS, THESE PROGRAMS PREPARE RESIDENTS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO SUCCEED IN THE LABOR MARKET BY PROVIDING A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, PAID WORK EXPERIENCE, CAREER COUNSELING, AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR RESIDENTS AGES 14 TO 24, WHO HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES.THIS YEAR, WE WERE ABLE TO ASSIST 380 ADULTS, 146 DISPLACED EMPLOYEES, 100 RE-ENTRY CLIENTS, 392 OUT-OF-SCHOOL ADOLESCENTS, 172 UNDERSERVED STUDENTS, 166 TEENAGERS ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE, 27 FOSTER YOUTH, 16 YOUTH ON PROBATION, 51 SYSTEM-INVOLVED YOUTHS, 53 INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, AND MANY OTHERS.
CITY OF LOS ANGELESASSISTANCE WITH JOB SEARCH ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING RESUME WRITING AND INTERVIEWING SKILLS, PRE-EMPLOYMENT VOCATIONAL BRIDGE TRAINING AND JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES FOR UNEMPLOYED, UNDEREMPLOYED, DISLOCATED, LOW-INCOME ADULT JOB SEEKERS, VETERANS, AND RECIPIENTS OF PUBLIC ASSISTANCE SPECIALIZED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE INITIATIVES IN HIGH-GROWTH INDUSTRIES INCLUDING THE TRANSPORTATION, MANUFACTURING, CONSTRUCTION, GREEN TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND HEALTH CARE SECTORS.WE HELPED 525 ADULTS, 225 DISLOCATED WORKERS, 125 RE-ENTRY CLIENTS, 125 INDIVIDUALS FACING HOMELESSNESS, AND MANY OTHERS THIS YEAR.
STATE OF CALIFORNIA EDDTHE VETERANS' JOB-RELATED ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (VEAP) IS FUNDED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA'S EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES TO VETERANS. VEAP WILL GIVE VETERANS THE CHANCE TO EARN INDUSTRY-RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR DEGREES, AS WELL AS HELP THEM FIND WORK IN HIGH-WAGE, HIGH-GROWTH AREAS. THROUGH OUR MANY ESTABLISHED COMMUNITY PARTNERS, THE PROJECT PROVIDES VETERANS WITH ACCESS TO SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, MENTAL HEALTH AND BEHAVIORAL SERVICES, AND WRAP-AROUND SERVICES SUCH AS HOUSING, MEDICAL CARE, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, PEER NAVIGATION, JOB COACHING, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE.THIS YEAR, WE HELPED 100 VETERAN SPUSES, WITH A 70% JOB PLACEMENT RATE.
