THE FUND IS A MULTI-EMPLOYER WELFARE EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLAN ESTABLISHED PURSUANTTO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE NEW YORK SHIPPING ASSOCIATIONAND THE INTERNATIONAL LONGSHOREMEN'S ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE GUARANTEED ANNUAL INCOME BENEFITS.THE FUND ALSO PROVIDES EMERGENCY SUPPLEMENTAL UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS TO LONGSHORE WORKERS COVERED BY THE MASTER CONTRACT WHO WERE OUT OF WORK BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
