THE MISSION OF VIDA SENIOR CENTERS IS TO IMPROVE AND MAINTAIN THE QUALITY OF LATINO AND OTHER SENIORS IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.

DUE TO COVID-19 MEASURES BEING EASED BY THE HEALTH CARE AND THE CITY AUTHORITIES, VIDA SENIOR CENTERS REESTABLISHED ITS IN-PERSON SERVICES IMPLEMENTING A HYBRID METHOD TO DELIVER ITS PROGRAMS. THE DIFFERENT VARIANCES OF THE VIRUS FORCED VIDA TO MOVE SERVICES VIRTUALLY AT LEAST TWO TIMES FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME DUE TO THE ARISING OF DELTA AND OMICRON VARIANCES ACCORDINGLY. NO SERVICE DISRUPTION OCCURRED FOR THE SENIORS DURING THESE TRANSITIONS. IN ADDITION TO THE REGULAR OPERATIONS, VIDA WORKED ON RAISING AWARENESS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING VACCINATED FOR COVID-19 AND FLU AS WELL DISTRIBUTING THE VACCINE TO THOSE LOW-INCOME SENIORS WHO ARE PART OF THE PROGRAMS AS WELL COMBATING VACCINE HESITANCY ON THE REST OF THE COMMUNITY.
