ANDERSON TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY MAINTAINS THE HISTORIC MILLER-LEUSER LOG HOUSE (C. 1796) AND SURROUNDING PROPERTY. FREE TOURS ARE OFFERED ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE FROM MAY THROUGH OCTOBER AND BY APPOINTMENT. THE GROWING COLLECTION OF HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS AND THE GENEALOGICAL AND RESEARCH LIBRARIES ARE HOUSED IN THE ANDERSON TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S OFFICE BUILDING.
ANDERSON TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S VOLUNTEERS STAFF OPEN HOURS AT THE ANDERSON CENTER HISTORY ROOM WHICH PROVIDES AN INTERESTING LOOK AT THE PAST OF THE ANDERSON TOWNSHIP AREA. THE HISTORY ROOM IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC WITH NO ADMISSION CHARGE
ANDERSON TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLDS MONTHLY MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR (EXCEPT JANUARY AND JULY) THAT INCLUDE PRGRAMS OF HISTORICAL INTEREST THE MEETINGS ARE FREE AND THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND.
WE OPERATE A COMMUNITY GARDEN WHICH WE CALL THE ANDERSON URBAN FARM. WE PROVIDE GARDEN SPACES AND ENCOURAGE GARDENERS TO USE NATURAL METHODS WHICH EXCLUDE CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS AND WEED KILLERS. WE COLLECT EXCESS FLOWERS AND PRODUCE AND DISTRIBUTE IT TO SOME OF OUR OLDER MEMBERS WHO REALLY APPRECIATE THE LOCALLY GROWN PRODUCE.
