THE MISSION OF LA CASA DE LA RAZA IS TO DEVELOP AND EMPOWER THE LATINO COMMUNITY BY AFFIRMING AND PRESERVING THE LATINO CULTURAL HERITAGE, PROVIDING AN UMBRELLA FOR SERVICES AND BY ADVOCATING FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE LARGER COMMUNITY.

CASA DE LA RAZA COMMUNITY CENTER IS A POPULAR LOCATION FOR QUINCEANERAS, WEDDING RECEPTIONS, PRIVATE EVENTS, MEETINGS, CONCERTS, ART SHOWS, COMMUNITY FORUMS, AND NONPROFIT FUNDRAISERS. EVENTS ARE OVERSEEN BY CASA'S DEDICATED STAFF WHO ACT AS A LIASON BETWEEN GUESTS AND THE CULTURAL IMPORTANCE OF THE OCCASION. CASA HAS OVER 26,000 SQUARE FEET OF FUNCTION SPACE, INCLUDING A 2200 SQUARE FOOT MAIN HALL, A 1300 SQUARE FOOT YOUTH CENTER, 900 SQUARE FOOT CLASS ROOM, AND SEVERAL SMALLER CONFERENCE ROOMS.


THE LCDR FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER:FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER OFFERS DIRECT SUPPORT TO WALK IN CLIENTS MONDAY-FRIDAY FROM 9:00AM-5:00PM AT NO COST. SPECIFICALLY, THE STAFF ADVOCATES FOR, LINKS AND EMPOWERS CLIENTS TO ACCESS APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENT, SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, AND PROVIDES ASSISTANCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND REFERRALS, CASE MANAGEMENT, MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUPS, HEALTH REFERRALS, TENANT RIGHTS, WORKER'S RIGHTS, HOUSING INFORMATION, COMMUNITY SERVICE, CONSUMER PROTECTION SERVICES, ASSISTANCE IN LETTER WRITING AND TRANSLATING LEGAL DOCUMENTS.


KZAA HIGHLIGHTS VOICES OF THE CHICANO/LATINO COMMUNITY, MONOLINGUAL AND BILINGUAL SPANISH SPEAKERS, INDIGENOUS CULTURES, YOUTH, WOMEN, AND OTHER MARGINALIZED GROUPS. THE STATION AIMS FOR ITS PROGRAMMING TO BE COLLABORATIVE IN NATURE, EDUCATIONAL FOR BOTH PARTICIPANTS AND LISTENERS, AND TO REFLECT UNITY AND FULL EXPRESSION OF DEMOCRACY IN THE INTEREST OF A COMMON DESTINY AND SOCIAL HARMONY.
