STUDENT RESEARCH - THE ORGANIZATION'S STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM PROVIDES AND ENGINEERING STUDENTS AT WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE AND THE AIR FORCE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND STUDENTS OF ALL OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTIES IN COMPANIES ACROSS THE REGION. STUDENTS BENEFIT BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND FINANCIALLY BY WORKING IN STATEOFTHEART LABORATORIES WITH TOP PROFESSIONALS. ADDITIONALLY, THEY CAN USE THIS EXPERIENCE FOR CAPSTONE PROJECTS, COOPERATIVE EDUCATION AND GRADUATE RESEARCH. THE AIR FORCE AND REGION RECEIVE THE BENEFIT OF STUDENTS WHO BRING ENERGY AND NEW IDEAS TO PROJECTS. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO EXPAND INTERNSHIPS IN INDUSTRY CLUSTERS IN THE REGION TO INCREASE ECONOMIC VITALITY BY SECURING A FUTURE WORK FORCE.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS - THE ORGANIZATION IS A CONSORTIUM OF LOCAL COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND OTHER EDUCATION-RELATED ENTITIES WITH PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO ADVANCE HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE REGION. THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS SEVERAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCES ANNUALLY ON TOPICS RELEVANT TO ITS MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO OFFERS CROSS REGISTRATION RESOURCES SO THAT STUDENTS FROM MEMBER INSTITUTIONS CAN BROADEN THEIR RANGE OF STUDY AND ACADEMIC EXPERIENCES BY ATTENDING COURSES OFFERED BY OTHER MEMBER INSTITUTIONS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH ACCESS TO WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE BY SERVING AS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR INFORMATION AND OFFERING ACADEMIC ADVISORY ASSISTANCE TO THE BASE'S EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES.
