THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS IS A FRATERNAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THE GREELEY AREA THROUGH CHURCH AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE COUNCIL SUPPORTS THREE PARISHES IN THE GREELEY AREA BY SUPPLYING FOOD AND MANPOWER FOR ANNUAL FUND-RAISING EVENTS DURING EACH PARISH'S FESTIVAL. THE PARISHES WILL ALSO REQUEST PHYSICAL AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR SPECIFIC NEEDS. THE COUNCIL TAKES OUT AN AD IN EACH PARISH'S BULLETIN TO HELP WITH THE COST OF THE BULLETIN. ONE PARISH SUPPORTS OUTREACH TO STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO. THE GREELEY AREA CHURCHES SERVE APPROXIMATELY 5,200 FAMILIES. THE FUNDS RAISED HELP EACH PARISH'S MISSION IN PROVIDING FOR THE RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL NEEDS OF THEIR MEMBERS.


THE COUNCIL SPONSORS A LENTEN FISH FRY EVENT AT TWO PARISHES. THE PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A MEAL TO PARISHIONERS FOR FELLOWSHIP AND TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SCHOOL SUPPORT OR PARISH NEEDS. 6 FISH FRIES WERE HELD AT ONE PARISH WITH 970 MEALS SERVED AND TWO WERE HELD AT ANOTHER PARISH WITH ABOUT 200 MEALS SERVED.


COUNCIL 2160 PROVIDES SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS MEMBERS AND SPOUSES BY SPONSORSHIP OF ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE CHRISTMAS SEASON DINNER AND THE SUPER BOWL PARTY. THIS HELPS BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AMONG MEMBERS AND COHESION WHEN DOING SERVICE EVENTS. ABOUT 70 MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN THESE.
