THE MISSION OF THE NORTH AREA VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS, INC. IS TO BE A COMMUNITY ORIENTED EMERGENCY SERVICES ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL, QUALITY, PRE-HOSPITAL CARE INCLUDING TRAINING AND EDUCATION.

EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICES - NAVAC IS THE PRIMARY PROVIDER OF AMBULANCE SERVICES TO A 62 SQUARE MILE AREA THAT INCLUDES THE COMMUNITIES OF BRIDGEPORT, CICERO, CLAY, HINSDALE, MATTYDALE, NORTH SYRAUCSE AND SOUTH BAY. FOR THE YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2021 NAVAC ANSWERED 8,148 INDIVIDUAL EMERGENCY CALLS.


COMMUNITY TRAINING - NAVAC PROMOTES AND PROVIDES TRAINING IN EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE. IT PROVIDES TRAINING IN FIRST AID AND CPR (CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION) TO ITS MEMBERS AS WELL AS TO OTHER FIRE DEPARTMENTS/DISTRICTS, POLICE AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.


VOLUNTEERISM - VOLUNTEERING IS PART OF OUR MISSION STATEMENT WHICH IS A PRINCIPAL SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. DURING THE YEAR THERE WERE 30 VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDED THE ORGANIZATION WITH THEIR ASSISTANCE AS DRIVERS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS, PARAMEDICS, CLERKS, MANAGERS AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
