THIS IS A LABOR ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROMOTING & PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS WORKING IN CINCINNATI, OHIO.

THE UNION COLLECTS DUES FROM ITS 844 MEMBERS, A PORTION OF WHICH IS PASSED ON TO ITS STATE & NATIONAL AFFILIATES FOR SUPPORT & INFORMATION REGARDING ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE MEMBERSHIP, E.G. THE LATEST FIREFIGHTING TECHNIQUES & EQUIPMENT, INFORMATION ON CURRENT LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AFFECTING FIREFIGHTERS, INFORMATION ON WHAT OTHER LOCALS ARE DOING AND ACCOMPLISHING IN NEGOTIATIONS, HEALTH & SAFETY, WORKERS COMPENSATION, ETC. THE STATE & LOCAL AFFILIATES ALSO REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE LOCAL'S MEMBERS TO GOVERNMENTS AT THEIR LEVEL.


THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS A BENEVOLENT PROGRAM FOR THOSE MEMBERS WHO CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE. PARTICIPANTS PAY INTO THE PROGRAM THROUGH VOLUNTARY PAYROLL DEDUCTION AND RECEIVE AN ACCUMULATED BENEFIT AT RETIREMENT. THIS YEAR 38 RETIRING MEMBERS BENEFITED FROM THIS PROGRAM.


THE ORGANIZATION SENDS REPRESENTATIVES TO VARIOUS CONFERENCES TO GIVE VOICE TO THE MEMBERS NEEDS & CONCERNS, TO VOTE ON ISSUES PRESENTED TO THE ATTENDEES, TO PARTICIPATE IN DISCUSSIONS OF BUSINESS ISSUES ADDRESSED AT THESE MEETINGS, TO LEARN AT THE SEMINARS & OTHER PROGRAMS AVAILABLE AND TO INTERACT WITH OTHER PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS & LOCALS.
