THE WISSAHICKON VALLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY (WVPL) HAD MANY PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR. 17,625 PEOPLE VISITED THE LIBRARY 67,205 TIMES TO BORROW BOOKS, ATTEND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, STUDY, READ, AND ATTEND MEETINGS AND TO USE OUR COMPUTERS. PATRONS BORROWED 53,799 ELECTRONIC ITEMS INCLUDING EBOOKS, EMAGAZINES AND EAUDIO BOOKS. THE LIBRARY CIRCULATED 173,662 PRINT BOOKS, DVD'S, VIDEO GAMES, AUDIO BOOKS AND MUSEUM PASSES AT THE MAIN LIBRARY IN BLUE BELL AND AT THE AMBLER BRANCH AND LOANED 27,591 MATERIALS TO OTHER LIBRARIES. WVPL PROVIDES PASSES TO 28 PA, NJ AND NYC MUSEUMS. THE LIBRARY STARTED A LIBRARY GRAB BAG SERVICE TO HELP THOSE WHO LIKED TO BROWSE, BUT COULDN'T COME TO THE LIBRARY BECAUSE OF COVID. THE LIBRARY ALSO CONTINUED THE CONTACTLESS PICK UP SERVICE. DESPITE COVID, THE WISSAHICKON VALLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY PLANNED AND FACILITATED 488 LIVE EDUCATIONAL AND ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS AT WHICH 3,555 PEOPLE ATTENDED. THE LIBRARY PLANNED 241 RECORDED PROGRAMS THAT 24,103 PEOPLE VIEWED. WE CONTINUE TO HOST ESL CONVERSATION GROUPS HELPING NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS TO PRACTICE THEIR ENGLISH. WVPL ALSO ANSWERED 3,911 QUESTIONS FOR USERS. PATRONS WORKED ON LIBRARY COMPUTERS 1,876 TIMES AND USED OUR WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS 1,444 TIMES. THE LIBRARY GARNERED 3 GENERAL OPERATING GRANTS, 2 FROM THE VNA FOUNDATION OF GREATER NORTH PENN AND ONE FROM THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOUNDATION FOR A TOTAL OF $15,000, TO ASSIST IN OUR COVID-19 FIGHT. THE LIBRARY ALSO GARNERED $3,500 IN EITC DONATIONS THAT WAS SPENT ON 19+ STEM PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN DURING THE SUMMER.
