THE PHILADELPHIA FILM CENTER IS AN EXCITING PERFORMANCE VENUE IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN PHILADELPHIA FEATURING THE LARGEST SCREEN IN THE CITY. THE PHILADELPHIA FILM CENTER IS LOCATED AT BROAD AND CHESTNUT STREETS ON THE AVENUE OF THE ARTS AND HOSTS FILM AND LIVE EVENTS IN TWO STATE-OF-THE-ART THEATERS.
EVERY OCTOBER, PFS HOSTS THE PHILADELPHIA FILM FESTIVAL WHICH GATHERS MORE THAN 25,000 FILM LOVERS AND SCORES OF TALENTED FILMMAKERS FOR TEN DAYS. FOUNDED IN 1992 AS A WORLD-CLASS FILM FESTIVAL, PFF IS THE CENTERPIECE OF PFS'S ANNUAL PROGRAMMING, CELEBRATING THE BEST OF THE FILM FROM AROUND THE WORLD. CONSISTING OF NEARLY 200 SCREENINGS, THE FESTIVAL ATTRACTS NEARLY 25,000 ATTENDEES. IN ADDITION, PFS ON US FREE TICKETING PROGRAM ALLOWS STUDENTS TO ATTEND SCREENINGS FOLLOWED BY A DISCUSSION AT THE FESTIVAL THROUGH THE STUDENT SCREENING PROGRAM
AFTER ASSUMING OPERATIONS OF THE PFS ROXY IN 2013 AND FOLLOWING ANFESTIVAL ATTRACTS NEARLY 25,000 ATTENDEES. IN ADDITION, PFS ON US FREETICKETING PROGRAM ALLOWS STUDENTS TO ATTEND SCREENINGS FOLLOWED BY ADISCUSSION AT THE FESTIVAL THROUGH THE STUDENT SCREENING PROGRAM.EXTENSIVE RENOVATION OF THE THEATER THROUGHOUT THE MAJORITY OF 2013,THE THEATER REOPENED IN DECEMBER 2013.
